How PengDrop Works

PengDrop is a hosted platform for selling digital products. Think of it like Shopify, but built specifically for digital files — ebooks, templates, courses, guides, design assets, software, music, or anything else that can be downloaded.

You don't need to build a website. PengDrop gives you a ready-made storefront at pengdrop.com/store/yourname where buyers can browse your products, add them to a cart, and pay with a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

After payment, buyers get a secure download link delivered to their email. You get paid directly to your Stripe account.

Getting started takes a few minutes. Here's what happens when you sign up:

1. Create an account — sign up with your email or Google. No credit card needed.
2. Connect Stripe — link your Stripe account so you can accept payments. If you don't have one, Stripe will walk you through creating one during setup.
3. Set up your store — choose your store name, add a logo, and pick a URL. Your storefront is live as soon as you publish your first product.
4. Upload your products — add a title, description, price, and the file(s) buyers will download. You can upload multiple files per product.

Once your first product is published, your store is live and ready to accept orders. Share the link anywhere — social media, your email list, your existing website.

When someone visits your store, they see a clean product catalogue with your branding. They can browse products, read descriptions, and add items to a cart.

At checkout, buyers pay through Stripe's secure checkout page. They can use a credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No account creation is required — they just enter their email and payment details.

After payment, two things happen immediately:

• The buyer gets an email with a secure download link for their purchased files.
• You get notified of the sale in your dashboard and via email.

Download links are unique to each order and secured with access tokens. Buyers can re-download their files for 30 days.

Payments go directly to your Stripe account. PengDrop doesn't hold your money — when a buyer pays, the charge is made directly on your Stripe account, and the funds are available according to your Stripe payout schedule (usually 2-3 business days).

You can sell in any currency Stripe supports. Your product prices are set in the currency of your choice — GBP, USD, EUR, or any other supported currency.

Stripe's standard processing fees apply (typically 1.5% + 20p for UK cards, or 2.5% + 20p for international cards). These are deducted by Stripe before the funds reach your account.

Once you're set up, your dashboard is where you manage everything:

• Products — add, edit, or remove products. Upload new files, update prices, or change descriptions.
• Orders — see every order with buyer details, payment status, and download history.
• Analytics — track your revenue, views, and sales over time.
• Settings — update your store name, logo, Stripe connection, and account details.
